I broke my collar bone whilst snow boarding in Canada. I was told I had a complex fracture but I consulted Mr.Webb at the Grosvenor Nuffield who was very re-assuring and advised a plate fixation. 9 weeks after surgery I am back to work as an apprentice.

Whilst I was out riding my motorcycle, I crashed into a cottage doing 60mph. I was taken in an ambulance to Chester Hospital where I was told I had ruptured a muscle in my spine, fractured two ribs, smashed my left hip to smithereens and my femur was so badly smashed that it was taken from my buttock. Luckily my Surgeon, Dr Phillipson had performed a miracle on me: he had put in a titanium femur and a ceramic hip socket. After 6 weeks of healing, I returned to my Surgeon who told me to begin exercising gently which I did, and like a child, got into my lycra asap and cycled 15 miles – and I haven’t looked back since!
