What We Do
Chester Sports Injuries Clinic has been set up to improve the assessment, diagnosis and treatment - including rehabilitation and return to sport - of acute and chronic injuries affecting the musculo-skeletal system. This includes injuries to the bones, joints and soft tissues of both the upper and lower limbs as well as more central spinal problems. Such injuries may arise following an acute episode during training or competition, or could perhaps be of gradual onset due to any number of problems.
Our aim is to both treat the condition successfully and also to identify any possible underlying cause to minimise the chance of recurrence.
The sporting adage, “A ‘champion team’ will always beat a ‘team of champions’”, heavily applies to our approach of offering a multi-disciplinary team combined with our state of the art diagnostic and treatment facilities. Because of the breadth of problems encountered in sports medicine, our team is led by two highly experienced Orthopaedic Consultants who specialise in upper and lower limb disorders, backed up by a team of skilled physiotherapists.
Your treatment begins with an initial assessment by a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, followed up by a physiotherapy evaluation. Some conditions may require investigations such as X-rays, ultrasound scans, CT or MRI scans, all of which are available on site to make the most efficient use of your treatment time. A treatment plan will then be instituted and your progress monitored as required.
